Senior Manager, Human Resources Cedar Rapids, IA

Salary: $95k - $130k & bonus
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Relocation provided

Our client is a world leader in convenient foods and beverages, with revenues of $32 billion and more 157,000 employees worldwide.

This is a highly visible, strategic HR partner leadership role.  The Senior HR Manager will provide HR generalist support to the Cedar Rapids plant (1000+ employees, 4 unions). The Senior HR Manager will also be responsible for the development of a staff of 7 HR professionals.

Report To: HR Director

Responsibilities:

  • Frequent interaction with the Leadership Team to strategically plan the business
  • Design and implement a comprehensive employee, labor relations and organizational capability strategy that supports the Cedar Rapids business plan
  • Serve as catalyst for culture change by ensuring that department strategies, tactics and practices are aligned with organization's behaviors and values
  • Recognize, articulate and help shape the company’s culture by facilitating change, crafting culture, valuing culture, and personalizing culture (helping employees find meaning in their work, managing work/life choices, and encouraging innovation)
  • Responsible for developing talent, shaping the organization, fostering communication and designing reward systems
  • Contribute to the success of the business by serving the value chain, interpreting social context, articulating the value proposition, and leveraging business technology.
  • Administer the day-to-day work of managing people inside the organization by implementing workplace policies and advancing HR technology.
  • Support the leadership team and employees in delivering the business agenda through four key roles (strategic partner, change agent, technical function expert and employee champion).
  • Support the execution of core people processes (e.g. Performance Management Process, People Planning, 360, Organizational Health Surveys) and other aspects of the people agenda including staffing, diversity, development, recognition, compensation, compliance and employee relations.

Candidate Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master Degree preferred
  • At least 8 years of HR experience but preferably no more than 12 years of HR experience
  • Must have experience working in an HR Manager capacity in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 5 years of labor relations experience in a union environment
  • Must have OD (organizational design) experience

This Senior HR Manager will be a member of our executive HR leadership team. We are looking for someone to work at the Cedar Rapids plant for the next 2 to 3 years (create/execute strategy, lead organizational development and change management initiatives).

Candidates must be willing to relocate out of Cedar Rapids at that time to take on a Regional or Corporate assignment.
