Location: Parsippany, New Jersey

Our client is an internationally celebrated specialty retailer.

 

The Human Resources Manager supports Finance, Information Technology, Archives, and Quality Assurance in all aspects of Human Resources. Manage the daily operation of Human Resource activities and works in partnership with Human Resource Specialists to ensure results. Partner with clients in order to understand the business strategies, analyze business needs and make recommendations and decisions in partnership with members of the client and HR team. Develops and/or promotes HR initiatives to further the strategic goals of the business.

 

Reports to: Human Resources Director

 

The Human Resources Manager will manage implementation, administration and operation of functional Human Resources services; provide quality service and results as it pertains to HR core functional knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, performance management, compensation, benefits and training and development; partner with client groups on all HR activities and strategically enhance processes as opportunities are identified. Ensure HR alignment with business related initiatives. Ensure that issues are handled in a consistent manner to limit exposure. Develop strategies and tactics to address performance and development. Provide consultative services and develop strategic solutions. Build alliances with management and establish a valuable consultative role within the organization. Provide effective coaching, counseling and progressive disciplinary strategies on all Employee Relations issues, up to and including terminations. Identify training needs within client groups; evaluate, plan and source the appropriate training and education activities. Consult with the business unit management on appropriate organization design and business plan. Counsel client group management on Human Resource policy, practice and procedures. Manage budget, monitor activities and expenses and ensure that expenses stay within plan.

 

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 7-10 years generalist or combined specialist experience with Employee Relations and high volume staffing.
  • Finance background ideal.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Human Resource functional and strategic delivery.
  • Excellent influence, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, follow-up and creative solution skills.
  • General business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, able to work independently and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

 

Ideal Candidate

  • All candidates MUST have supported a finance function, IT is a plus.
  • Must have a stable work history.
  • Direct supervisor over staff is a big plus; this person will have 2 direct reports. 
  • This person will have a lot of interaction with Sr. Leadership so communication skills and business acumen will be key.
